Ducklings
This week's painting is inspired by "An Easter Tale" by Tasha Tudor. The artist illustrated many popular children's books. She was awarded the Caldecott Medal. She was born in 1915 and lived in New England till her death in 2008. I was surprised to find she was more contemporary than I thought. Her figures wore costumes from eras long past and her words used English spellings like colour for color. She has a delicate masterful use of watercolor that I thought you would like. So, for Easter this week, I read the Easter Tale and chose to paint her ducklings from the book. The video is now up at www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com on the video class page. Tuesday and Wednesday we will paint this together 2:00-4:00 PM and study a bit about Tasha Tudor. Book your class on the class page now to come via zoom. Independent painters meet 10:00 AM to noon. Wishing you happy painting this week as we welcome spring and Easter into our lives.
