Coastal Boats
I need a trip. When given the choice, the destination would include ocean. Art can always transport us to anywhere our heart desires. What power! Let's go to a coastal spot and paint some fishing boats, fog and reflections. This video is now posted at www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com. No words on the video. Just a 17 minute quick video that leads you step-by-step through using a masking pen to draw the boats. When the mask is dry (almost immediately with a masking pen) watercolor can be painted over top without worrying about saving white paper. A wash for the mountains, water and sky is quick. After the paint is dry, peel off the mask with a rubber cement pick up. Add some details and your painting is done. We will work on this scene in person next Tuesday 2:00-4:00 PM. Pastel LIVE will be all day Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9-5 ($25/day). Wednesday class regulars may join during their class time for free. Tuesday morning independent painters will meet 10:00-noon. Monday at noon will be "Radiant Acrylic Landscapes" with Jed Dorsey (free live zoom). Lots of painting and drawing next week. Aren't we lucky? We will all be better artists at the end of the week! Join in when you are able.
