Backlit Aspen

This week, we take a scene similar to last week - beautiful fall aspens - and change up the values. By putting the light source, the sun, behind the trees, we set up an opposite situation to last week's tree painting. The trunks are now in shadow and cast shadows into the foreground. The cool colors of purple and blue vibrate against the warm light yellows and oranges. Celebrate fall again with me this week at Showcase as we paint this scene Tuesday 2-4 PM MDT.
